Mathematics & Numeracy

At Donaghadee Primary School, we aim to provide a broad and balanced Numeracy curriculum, where our children feel relaxed and confident to explore and develop their skills.  We hope these in turn will equip them to make informed and responsible choices and decisions throughout their lives.

 

Throughout the year groups, children have opportunities to engage in a wide range of purposeful mathematical activities. Playing and exploring encourages an investigative nature where children learn the value of mathematical resilience.

 

Sharing strategies, asking questions, reflecting and recording are all integral components of our Numeracy lessons. Children work collaboratively, independently and practically to build on established foundations.  Through this they can become ambitious, assured and capable learners.
